Meet Sue

Congratulations and I'm happy to meet you!
Becoming a Justice of the Peace is the best thing I've ever done. I was commissioned as a JP by the Governor over 17 years ago and it has been an absolute joy officiating at weddings, vow renewals, baby welcomings, dedications and remembrances ever since.
My mission is to do the very best at everything possible to make your day perfect for you. I truly enjoy people and can help you identify and describe your unique characteristics so that your wedding will be the special celebration and reflection of you that you want it to be. My presence at your wedding is attentive, calming, fun and professional. From our initial discussion, to guiding you through the marriage license and wedding process, to recommending vendors, to conducting your rehearsal, to arriving at your ceremony early, I am dedicated to being there for you.
My couples are happily impressed with the caring, consideration, creativity and quality that I bring to composing and delivering customized ceremonies for them. Whatever you want in a ceremony ~ short and sweet, long and romantic, religious or not, light-hearted or serious ~ is exactly what you will get. Need a special touch? I have delivered portions of ceremonies in French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian and American Sign Language! If there are a few lines of your ceremony that you would like spoken in a foreign language, I will learn them for you! Want some unique touches incorporated into your ceremony? I have ideas to share with you; get in touch and we'll talk!

Your wedding gown is lovely. You took great care in finding just the right dress, having it fitted and accessorizing with the perfect touches. You love it. This was true for a bride in England who couldn't see why she would wear her gown only once, on her wedding day, and has set out to wear it for an entire year. In Massachusetts, JPs are required to apply for commission renewal every 7 years. I am happy to share that the Governor of the Commonwealth has approved my application for renewal and that I have again been sworn in as a Justice of the Peace! Thank you to everyone who supported my application, especially Jen and Steve:
To Whom It May Concern,
It is my privilege to write a letter of recommendation for Susan Stamos as a Justice of the Peace. She married Steven Cotter and me on September 8, 2017.
We really had no idea what we wanted, or even needed, to accomplish other than ‘get married.’ Sue was, and is, incredibly personable, friendly, very experienced, and well prepared to help us figure out what we wanted and how. She took the time to get to know us and tailored our experience to our unique, figure-it-out-as-we-go-along style as well as making sure we understood all legal necessities and when they needed to happen. Her extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the process was invaluable.
Bringing people together in the bonds of love and joy is Sue’s calling and it really shows. I truly cannot imagine anyone better for the job and whole-heartedly endorse her reappointment as Justice of the Peace.
Sincerely,
Jen Glejf and Steve Cotter
